Radiohead

05.07.2003

Live at Auditorium Stravinski

Formed in 1992 in virtual anonymity, the Oxford band delivered a first single "Creep" which was to hit the jackpot in the world charts. We all know what came then: a first 100% rock album Pablo Honey unanimously acclaimed by critics, followed by The Bends. When Ok Computer was released, Radiohead were hailed as the greatest alternative rock band. An enthusiasm that annoyed Thom Yorke, leader of the formation, who thumbed his nose at the listeners by forsaking electric guitars for an experimental electronic sound on Kid A. Then came Amnesiac, by which time Radiohead were established coelebrities. Adulated everywhere, Yorke's band released a new album in June and will be taking the Montreux audience to seventh heaven. Whereas Jazz constitutes the Festival’s historic core, other styles of music were quickly integrated into the Festival, bound together by a common thread of mutual curiosity and enthusiasm.
