Throughout his career, guitarist Lee Ritenour has experimented with different styles of music. A true Jazz fusionist, he has often incorporated elements of funk, pop, rock, blues, Brazilian in his compositions. Lee has appeared on over 3000 sessions, recorded over 40 solo and collaboration albums and count among his featurings such great artists as B.B. King and George Benson. On July 4, he will be joined on stage by Academy Award- winning composer Dave Grusin, with whom he recorded his 2008 album Amparo.


David Grusin is an American composer, arranger and pianist. Throughout his career he won numerous awards for his soundtracks and record works, including an Academy award and 12 Grammys. Recently he has turned his attention to his own compositions. They can be heard on CD's in collaboration with major artists including Lee Ritenour with whom he will share the Stravinski stage on July 4.

Founded by Claude Nobs in 1967, over the years the Montreux Jazz Festival has become an unmissable event for music fans in Switzerland and around the world. Its stages have been graced by all of music’s greats, from Miles Davis to Ray Charles and from David Bowie to Prince.

Whereas Jazz constitutes the Festival’s historic core, other styles of music were quickly integrated into the Festival, bound together by a common thread of mutual curiosity and enthusiasm.
